This week I made ginger lemonade (which I used the leftover syrup from my Pimm's dessert), Hawaiian mochi bread, burrata with oranges and macadamia nuts mushroom, onion, goat cheese pizza. This week I wanted to cook more savory dishes to challenge myself with something different.

My burrata dish was probably my favorite out of all of them this week. Because as I mentioned earlier, I love to try different flavor combinations. So while I was surfing Pinterest, I came across an interesting recipe combining funnel and blood oranges. Also, I have never had burrata before, mostly because my mom and brother are lactose intolerant, so I grew up drinking almond milk and dairy-free ice cream. In turn, my mom doesn’t buy me as much cheese because I would have to eat most of it.

But every once and a while, when we go to Trader Joe’s, my favorite place on earth. It is kind of a tradition now, me and mom jam out to music on the way there and have a blast at Trader Joes, most of the time we go there for a few things and always come home with a full cart, and being a chef it's so exciting to find a bunch of new things to cook and experiment with. For people who have never been its has a very it is your regular store but without all the preservatives, and has very interesting premade foods, cheeses, yogurts and so much more!

But, I get to try out new cheeses to try; my favorite is probably goat cheese; it adds a tanginess. (I went through a phase where I was obsessed with goat cheese) and a way to showcase all of the cheeses are by making a cheeseboard. I love making these there easy, cute, and delicious. I have actually gotten paid to make one for my mom's friends' party.

But this is my last week. I have actually grown a lot as a chef; I have definitely gotten more confident in myself and my cooking ability and had a lot of fun! Even though things didn't always go as planned. But it wasn't just cooking. I grew in learning to give myself some slack throughout this all.
